What types of glass are suitable for windows?

1. Ordinary Residential Use

Recommended Window Glass

***Single-layer tempered glass: 5-6mm thick, suitable for small exterior windows (single pane area <1.5㎡)

***Double-layer insulating glass: 5+12A+5 or 6+12A+6 (A represents the thickness of the air layer) are recommended for better sound insulation and thermal insulation, suitable for ordinary residences.

2. Recommended Glass for Large or High-Rise Windows

***Tempered laminated glass: such as 5+0.76PVB+5, is wind-resistant and explosion-proof, suitable for floor-to-ceiling windows or high-rise buildings (single pane area ≥1.5㎡).

***Ultra-clear tempered glass: 8-12mm thick, low self-explosion rate, excellent transparency, suitable for landscape windows.‌‌

3.Specialized Glass for Coastal or Typhoon-Prone Areas

***Insulating Laminated Composite Glass: such as 6+12A+6+0.76PVB+6, resists wind pressure and salt spray corrosion and requires a 316 stainless steel frame.

***Inert Gas-Filled Insulating Glass: such as 5+27A+5 (argon-filled), improves thermal insulation and prevents internal absorption.

4. Special Function Glass Options

***Low-E Glass: Suitable for sun-facing windows, reflects UV rays, and a thickness of 6mm or more is recommended.

***Triple-Layer Insulating Glass: such as 5+9A+5+9A+5, suitable for use in extremely cold regions, with a thickness of up to 22mm.

5. Recommended Glass Thickness for Thermally Insulated Aluminum Doors and Windows

***55-60 Series: 5-8mm insulating glass (such as 5+12A+5)

***70-80 Series: 8-12mm insulating or laminated glass (such as 6+24A+6)‌
